Recipes shared from Curam family recipe book

RECIPE
PEAR AND MANGO CHUTNEY

Preparation time : 1 hour
Shelf life : About a month

Ingredients
250 gms. Raw Mango
  250 gms. Pears.
  250  gms. Jaggery
  2 tsp. salt
  1 tsp. red chilli powder
  1 tsp. Powdered pepper
  1 tbsp. Muskmelon seeds 
  1 tbsp. raisins.
  2 cloves powdered
  8 each almonds and cashews chopped finely.

Preparation
Peel and mash and pear.
Pulp the mango.
 Dissolve the jaggery in 500ml water and bring it to boil.
Add the mashed fruit, cashew, raisins, seeds, chilli and salt.
Boil till a thick jam consistency is obtained. Stir occasionally.
Add the clove and pepper powder.
Cool a bit and transfer to a clean airtight jar.

 Sundar Pichai is CEO of Alphabet and Google. Sundar Pichai joined Google in 2004 as product manager and rose through the ranks. Google has grown as a company under his leadership. Google work culture is unique and Sundar Pichai nurtures it while tweaking it to benefit productivity. Sundar Pichai says that Google workplace culture makes him want to go to the office every morning. He joined Google as Project Manager working on Chrome which is now has a major share of the Web Browser market globally. In the last decade Google has launched many products. Sundar Pichai, however, clears that Google is a company focusing on innovations applying science to ease digital world for people. The clarity helps Google employees perform; that employees make Google better for everyone with a series of innovations.

Sundar Pichai while relating his experience of his first impression of the United States explains how he felt lost with the changes. What impressed Pichai was the fact that his ideas were taken seriously, even though he was a newcomer to the country. He credits the United States of America for this culture. Googlers work in small teams and collaborate across teams without being micromanaged. Encouraging casual interactions and formal meeting are both encouraged to nurture innovation.

 Internal transparency is a company trait in Google and has been so for some time. Sundar Pichai addressing IIT, Kharagpur grads explained that “Google has an outstanding leadership team. It’s learning to let go and really empower people at all levels of the organization, and trusting them to do the right thing.”
Having more information empowers employees and helps them do their work better.

Chris Beckman, who worked at Google with Sundar Pichai says this about Pichai. “He avoided making enemies, made his successful. He also saw that there was least damage caused to other teams.” This was during the team he was pushing for the launch of Chrome. Especially required trait in Negotiation skills, the more courteous you are people approach you with information and this helps in gaining requisite information to negotiate well. Sundar Pichai took over the Android founder’s portfolio in 2013 to administer mobile platforms. He has been able to woo more than a billion customers to the android ecosystem.
 Listen More Speak Less
Imbalance in conversation occurs when one fails to listen, pay inadequate attention. If you do not understand ‘say it’. Listening creates magic. By listening you can find a solution that you never imagined. If you are in conversation about some complex things, do not interrupt with ‘but I think’ instead ask What else?. Understanding can be reached that had seemed impossible. Old angers and resentments can be overcome. Frustrations can simply fall away.
 At the India Ideas Summit speaking at an interview after receiving Global Leadership Award Sundar Pichai said in response to a question that Leaders need to listen more. Not only is Sundar Pichai  known for listening he in fact has been the person who would explain what some of the requirements were at meeting in case colleagues were unsure. A quality which helped him raise in rank initially.
